How the coverage ring is drawn
Azle straddles a county line, so our coverage does too. On the Tarrant County side, SH 199 runs southeast through Lake Worth toward Fort Worth, and I-820 links Saginaw, White Settlement, and farther out Keller and Hurst. On the Parker County side, SH 199 heads northwest to Springtown, and FM 730 runs south to Weatherford, the county seat. The Wise County edge north of the lake gets the same answer-first service when an address is in range. Closer in, several small communities share Azle's roads, schools and weather without pages of their own: Reno and Sanctuary along SH 199 toward Springtown, Pelican Bay on the shore of Eagle Mountain Lake, Lakeside next to Lake Worth, and Briar to the north, where Parker, Tarrant and Wise counties meet. The houses change as you move around the ring, and so do the calls. Springtown and the Parker County acreage run on propane, heat pumps and manufactured-home systems. Lake Worth and White Settlement are full of 1940s to 1960s houses with closet furnaces and ducts that were added later. Saginaw's 2000s subdivisions are reaching their first replacements. City limits, mailing addresses and who issues the permit
Around Azle, the town on your envelope is not always the government that inspects your new system. Mailing addresses cross city lines, lake lots can be leased, and acreage outside town follows county rules. Repairs rarely need a permit, but a system replacement usually does, and the licensed contractor pulls it from whoever has jurisdiction:
- Hurst: the City of Hurst Building Inspections division, which works from the 2021 International Codes adopted in 2022.
- Keller: Keller Building Inspections, which requires a permit to install or replace a mechanical system under the 2021 codes.
- Lake Worth: the City of Lake Worth Permits and Inspections department, plus Fort Worth’s Lake Worth Management Office for construction on leased lake lots.
- Saginaw: the City of Saginaw Building Inspections and Permits department at City Hall, with HOA rules on top in many subdivisions.
- White Settlement: the White Settlement Building Department, which inspects on Tuesdays, Wednesdays and Thursdays only.
Electricity varies the same way. Much of the Tarrant County side is on Oncor's lines, rural Parker County acreage is often served by Tri-County Electric Cooperative, which is headquartered in Azle, and most homes inside Weatherford buy power from the city's own Weatherford Electric. Keller and Hurst are at the outer edge, about 40 minutes out without traffic, and I-820 at rush hour is slower. During a heat wave or a hard freeze every contractor in the area is stretched. We still answer every call and confirm timing on the phone, but we never promise an arrival time we can't keep.
